Samsung U900 Soul is the latest addition to the Samsung Ultra range. Encased in a metallic shell, the U900 Soul has a good sturdy feel in the hand. The design is a standard Samsung slide design, with a solid opening action, traditional to all Samsung Mobile Phones. The mobile phone heavy anticipated to deliver the final crescendo swan song of Samsungs award winning Ultra range. For several designs now the Samsung Ultra range has helped re-evaluate perceptions of the slider mobile phone. The u900 feels balanced in the hand and the operation is simple and straight forward, something that is becoming a trade mark of Samsung phones.

Since the Ultras beginning, Samsung have kept to a core belief and formula that the range should encapture compact design and technology, without the loss of aesthetic appeal. All of which is evident on first glance of the Samsung U900 Soul, as inside the mobile phones attractive and classy stainless stain exterior lurks a degree of technology that should be bursting out of the U900 Souls compact dimensions.

The feature that truly sets the U900 apart from previous slide phones from Samsung is the touch-sensitive navigation keypad. There is a small touch-sensitive screen placed below the main LCD display. The touchscreen is icon-driven and the icons change according to the menu selected. It’s very similar to the one used in the LG Venus and the Samsung E950.

It’s not that Samsung Soul has some groundbreaking new technology, the interactive touchpad was around since Samsung E950 : 5 megapixel camera without zoom is becoming standard in the new higher end Samsung phones. Slim body, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA connectivity, radio with RD, for more information just find it at Mobile Phone Deals.

Samsung U900 is a multimedia mobile phone in which you can down load and upload themes, video songs and MP3 songs. And to connect the mobile phone with broad band a pot is provided on the back side of the mobile phone.

Samsung U900 Soul delivers some of the fastest HSDPA download times known in the mobile phone industry, with an actual speed of 7.2Mbps, which leaves near all its competitors dead in the water.

The camera in the U900 Soul consists of a 5 MP lens that features auto focus, flash, image stabilisation and the markets latest face detection technology. All of which helps equate to outstanding images that are beautifully displayed on the mobile phones 16 million colour 2.2″ TFT screen.

For music entertainment the Samsung Soul has a full music player, supporting many music formats including MP3, AAC, AAC+ and WMA. The phone also has a built in stereo FM radio with RDS support. RDS stands for Radio Data System and is used to send a small amount of digital information using standard FM radio broadcasts. This allows the phone to display the name of artist and album of the song currently being played, and possibly a playlist of the upcoming songs to be played on the station.

One feature worth noting is the generous amount of internal memory only 100 Mbytes, as well as the option to add a microSD memory card. Other standard features such as email, document viewer, Bluetooth, offline mode are all present. The network is three band, not quad band.

Here is the specification:

Join me as I take a look at the battle that’s brewing between the heavyweight in the mobile world: Nokia and Sony Ericsson, both of whom want you to buy THEIR mobile phones!

Nokia - Going Tubin’

A lot of hopes are pinned on a brand new Nokia phone that’s due out soon, the Tube. It’s significant, because it’s going to be Nokia first EVER full touchscreen mobile phone. Yep, they plan to take on the iPhone with it! To that end, they’ve been in development on a brand new version of their Symbian-based operating system, called S60 Touch. It is said to boast full touch control, massive 3+ inch screen, a VERY high spec camera, and all the usual Nokia user-friendliness.

However, recent shots of it, and test users’ opinions have said it’s not THAT nice to use. And whilst it may aim at the same touch control mechanism as the iPhone, it seems somehow clunkier, according to reports; the Nokia Tube’s just not as smooth, or as fluid as its rival from Apple.

Sony Ericsson - power users of the world rejoice

So, if the Tube is going to be a bit of a let-down, what have Sony Ericsson got up their sleeves? Well, it seems they have a quadruple-header of REALLY high-end mobile phones coming up. First up is a Cyber-Shot camera phone known only by its codename of ‘Shiho’. It’s not been confirmed exactly what spec it will have, but if the rumours are to be believed, it will have AT LEAST a 7.2 megapixel camera, with 3x optical zoom. Combine that with the Cyber-Shot gubbins, and it will make for one awesome camera phone. If Sony Ericsson are going to rule the camera world with the Shiho, then they aim to rule the music world with their new really, really high end Walkman phone, so secret that we don’t even know its new codename. All we know is that it was called ‘Maria’, and was based on a totally new version of Symbian UIQ, making it a proper iPhone-Killer. We don’t know exactly how powerful it will be, but one thing’s for sure; it will be powerful!

They pale in comparison, though, to Sony Ericsson’s BIG pair of heavy-hitters. In the Windows Mobile world, and aiming to crack America, we have the stunning X1, an all-metal, super-powered mega-smart-phone. And then, alongside that, will be the mobile phone that the world and its dog is waiting for: the Sony Ericsson Paris, rumoured to be the upcoming P5. Whilst we don’t know the full specs of this monster yet, we DO know it’s UIQ-powered, with an incredibly-fast processor, 5 megapixel camera, sliding QWERTY keypad, built-in GPS, and an exclusive, metal body. Certainly cool enough to kick the Nokia Tube into a cocked hat. Not that it won’t have competition, though, because rumored to be out this year is another newbie to the world of mobile phones: the new 3G iPhone.

Because there is “N95″ in the name of the new ZXN95, it makes sense that consumers would assume that the Z model is based on the hugely popular Nokia N95.

There’s even video floating around the web which indicates that this clone is a decent N95 knock off.

While I agree that this is an innovative and high functioning phone that can hold its own with any mainstream American model, I would argue that it more closely resembles the Sony C702a or the Sony Sure Shot phone.

There are current respectable replicas of the 95 which I will describe later in this article, but I don’t think the ZX was intended to be one of them.

I don’t think that anyone would argue that it is the very high quality 3.0 mega pixel camera phone on the Z model that is getting this clone so much attention. It is very rare to see this high a resolution or a professional quality camera among the clones or in this price range. The phone also has advanced editing features that you just don’t often see.

While both the ZXN95 and the Nokia have 2.6 inch touch screens with full and very functional keyboards, the 95 is 8GB while the ZX is 2GB. The N95 is a two way slider while the Z model is not. The N model has Wi Fi and the clone doesn’t.

There are currently true 95 clones on the market that are from China and Korea. They are called the same name as the original. These are true sliders, but there are differences among them.

Typically, the Chinese N95 clone only has 2GB of memory and is lacking Wi Fi and GPS. The Korean clone does not have this omission and is almost totally identical to the original.

In summary, although the ZXN95 is a great replica for the price (around $70) and has an outstanding camera, it is really a clone of the Sony Ericsson sure shot phones.
