There are an awful lot of scamy sites that make out that they are offering free iPhones but are basically a waste of our time. These are sites that require that we spam all our friends and get then to spam all their friends and so on till we have, say, a hundred referrals. Or we have to earn points - usually by purchasing other products.
In any event - despite the claims of success on the many sites that have sprung up to promote these ways of getting a “free” iPhone - we have heard reports from many sources that getting a free iPhone this way is near to impossible.
So we went on the hunt to see if we could track down any legitimate free iPhone deals.
And we were able to find some! Basically, we discovered five legitimate ways that free iPhone get offered:
- List building - when a business wants to build a list of people that it can then market to it may offer an incentive for us to provide our name address and email. Some companies offer a chance to win an iPhone as the incentive
- Design contests - we found several sites offering free iPhones as the prize for the best design, some were from big shakers and movers like istockphoto
- ‘Promote Me’ contests - these require the contestant to promote a site in some way with the winner getting a free iPhone
- ‘Review Me’ contests - these require us to do a review of some sort which earns us an entry into the draw for a free iPhone
- ‘Play and Win’ - our favorite type of contest! but we did not find many like this. These are games that we have to play and the “best” player gets a free iPhone. Not too shabby!
We spent many hours hunting for genuine “free iphone” deals. Now you know what to look for! But be warned, there are not a lot of genuine free iPhones on offer.
